Gloria H. Everett
President & Chief Executive Officer
Ms. Everett has over 25 years of risk management, sales, marketing and management experience. She comes to MedAmerica Mutual from TIG, where she served as Senior Vice President of special risk operations. Ms. Everett joined MedAmerica Mutual in October 2001 as Vice President, Integrated Services.
Previously, Ms. Everett held key leadership roles at Kaiser Permanente, NORCAL Mutual, Fireman's Fund, and TIG Specialty Insurance Company. In addition, Ms. Everett is on the Board of Directors of Physicians Insurers Association of America (PIAA) and National Risk Retention Association (NRRA).
Ms. Everett received her BA in Healthcare Administration from St. Mary's College.
Christopher P. Mertes
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Mertes has over 20 years of finance and management experience, including 14 years with NORCAL Mutual, where he served as Assistant Controller.
Previously, Mr. Mertes held analyst positions with Impell Corporation, MGM/UA Entertainment Company, and Dun & Bradstreet, Inc.
Mr. Mertes earned his MBA with honors from St. Mary's College and a BA in Economics from UCLA.
Savannah Sellman
Executive Vice President & Corporate Counsel
Ms. Sellman’s professional career has included all facets of the insurance industry. She has worked in the regulatory environment as both Assistant and Deputy Attorney General for the State of Pennsylvania in the Justice and Insurance Departments. She has served as in house counsel to NORCAL Insurance Company and PMSLIC in the capacities of Vice President and General Counsel and Secretary and General Counsel, respectively. She has been a partner in the law firms of Hancock, Rothert and Bunshoft, Duane Morris and Clyde & Co US, LLP and will remain affiliated with Clyde & Co as Of Counsel. In her private practice, Ms. Sellman has represented insurance and reinsurance companies specializing in medical professional liability. Ms. Sellman is an ARIAS-certified international reinsurance arbitrator. She is a member of the California State Bar and ARIAS.
Ms. Sellman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1971 from Beaver College for Women and a Juris Doctor in 1974 from Rutgers University School of Law. She has completed half of the credits required for a Masters of Law in Taxation at Golden Gate University School of Law.
Kevin M. Cichurski
Vice President, Underwriting & Policyholder Services
Mr. Kevin Cichurski has over 17 years of experience in professional liability underwriting and policyholder services and is well versed in medical malpractice underwriting.
Mr. Cichurski's professional career included overseeing underwriting activities for the middle-market business units at The Doctors' Company and managing various lines of liability for hospital accounts at Program BETA and Norcal Mutual.
Mr. Cichurski is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society and a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
Mr. Cichurski received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Rider University, New Jersey, and a Master of Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Florida.
